RFID ear tags for livestock — supply in Uzbekistan

ICAR-certified RFID ear tags for cattle and small ruminants — supplied across Uzbekistan, from family farms to national animal identification programs.

RFID ear tags for livestock

RFID ear tags are a means of individual electronic animal identification: the tag carries a chip with a unique number that is read contactlessly and stays with the animal for life. Unlike visual numbers, the electronic code does not fade, wear off or get lost when the tag is dirty, and reading takes seconds and eliminates manual transcription errors.

RFID identification is the foundation of modern herd records. Farms need it for herd management, veterinary control and breeding work, while regulators need it for traceability of animals and livestock products. ERKSONS supplies RFID ear tags in Uzbekistan — from small family farms to agro-industrial complexes and national identification programs.

Tags for cattle and small ruminants

Electronic tags are used for cattle and small ruminants — cows, bulls, sheep and goats. The tag is fixed to the animal's ear with special applicator pliers and serves as its electronic passport:

  • identification during weighing, milking, examinations and herd moves — the number is read at a distance, without restraining the animal;
  • veterinary records: the history of vaccinations, treatments and therapy is linked to a specific animal;
  • breeding and productivity: accurate data per head instead of averaged estimates for the whole herd;
  • traceability: the animal's movement between farms and to processing is recorded by its unique code.

ICAR certification and the ISO 11784/11785 standards

The tags are certified by ICAR (International Committee for Animal Recording) — the international organization that tests and registers RFID animal identification devices to the ISO 11784/11785 standards. Certification confirms that a device meets the international requirements for animal identification: code uniqueness, durability in operating conditions and correct reading. The ISO 11784 and ISO 11785 standards themselves define the animal code structure and the reading radio interface — they describe two protocol variants, FDX-B and HDX. These standards are used in national livestock recording systems worldwide.

Why a farm needs electronic herd records

  • an accurate herd count in minutes instead of hours of manual work;
  • fewer errors: the number is read by a scanner rather than copied by hand;
  • readiness for traceability requirements: data on every animal is available during inspections and sales;
  • a foundation for farm digitalization: electronic animal numbers connect to herd management software.

Electronic identification proves itself at any scale: the larger the herd, the more noticeable the time savings and data accuracy.

What to consider when choosing tags

  • Animal type and age: cattle and small ruminants take different tag sizes and shapes — this affects tag retention and reading convenience.
  • Visual number duplicate: it is convenient when the electronic tag also carries a printed number — the animal can be identified even without a reader.
  • Housing conditions: pasture or stall housing, climate and herd density determine the requirements for material and fastening.
  • Compliance with standards: to take part in registration programs, a tag must comply with the ISO 11784/11785 standards.

An ERKSONS engineer will help select the right option for your herd and registration program.

How supply and rollout work

  • Consultation: we discuss the farm's needs — animal type, herd size, registration program requirements.
  • Selection and calculation: we determine the tag type and quantity, the configuration (applicator pliers) and draw up a specification.
  • Supply: we ship the batch per project — from pilot volumes to large-scale deliveries; the company office and warehouse are in Tashkent, with delivery to all regions of Uzbekistan.
  • Support: we advise on tag application and on setting up electronic animal records.
